Celebrity inspired halloween makeup
Earlier this month jane iredale hosted a conference for our International Distribution Partners. One evening some of our best makeup artists from around the world came together to put on a runway show featuring iconic celebrity makeup looks. Keep reading for step-by-step instructions to recreate a couple of the more popular looks of the evening. Whether you have already picked out a costume for Halloween or not, we hope these fun celebrity makeup looks help to inspire you!
We love this look that was created by Yulia, the head of education for jane iredale Russia. Her inspiration was Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. Believe it or not her model is actually blonde! Here’s how you can recreate this look:
- Start by applying your shade of Glow Time BB Cream using your fingertips.
- Apply Aqua Silk Eye Gloss from the top of your lash line up to your brow bone and extend outward to make a “cat eye” as seen on the model above.
- Apply the Aqua end of Aquamarine Mystikol from your top lash line up to just below your brow bone and out to make your cat eye, this will go over the Aqua Silk Eye Gloss.
- Apply Blue Hour PurePressed Eye Shadow to your eyelid using the Eye Shader Brush.
- Apply Aquamarine 24-Karat Gold Dust using the Chisel Shader Brush over top the Blue Hour PurePressed Eye Shadow and your Mystikol.
- Line your top and bottom lash line thickly with Onyx Mystikol connect the lines on the inner part of your eye and outward to make a severe cat eye.
- Line your bottom water line with the Basic Black Eye Pencil.
- Using the Smudge Brush, smudge Blue Hour PurePressed Eye Shadow over the Onyx Mystikol.
- Use the Black/Brown Eye Pencil to fill in your brows, thicken and lengthen them as well extending outward in a natural line with your brow shape.
- Add faux lashes if desired.
- Apply PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner followed by Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara in Black Ice.
- Use So-Bronze 1 and the Dome Brush to contour your forehead, jawline and below your cheek bones.
- Apply Complete In Touch Highlighter above your cheek bones and above your brows.
- Apply In Love PurePressed Blush to the apples of your cheeks using the Dome Brush.
- Fill in your lips using the Spice Lip Pencil and apply Snow Berry PureGloss Lip Gloss over top for a very nude lip.
- Finish your look with a long black wig and add jewels for a special touch
- Kate Middleton is one of the most talked-about celebrities in the US and around the world. Fittingly, this look was created by one of our friends from the UK, Danielle. To get Kate’s classic, ladylike look, follow these steps:
- Start by applying your shade of Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder using the Chisel Powder Brush and spritz with your favorite Hydration Spray.
- Apply the lightest shade of Sundown PurePressed Eye Shadow Triple from your top lash line up to just below your brow bone.
- Apply the middle shade of Sundown to your Crease and outer corner of your eye using the Crease Brush, blend well.
- Spritz your Smudge Brush with Hydration Spray and use it to smudge the darkest shade of Sundown across your top lash line and outer 3/4 of your bottom lash line as liner.
- Apply Bone PurePressed Eye Shadow to your brow bone using the Eye Contour Brush.
- Fill in your brows and shape using the Brunette Bitty Brow Kit.
- Apply PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner followed by Jet Black PureLash Lengthening Mascara to your lashes.
- Using the Dome Brush, swirl all the shades of Rose Dawn Quad Bronzer together and apply them to your forehead, cheek bones and apples of your cheeks.
- Using the White Fan Brush, highlight the top of your cheeks using the two lightest colors from Rose Dawn Quad Bronzer.
- Finish your look with Beach Plum PureGloss Lip Gloss and a cute hat!
- What’s more fun than Liza Minelli? I’ll let you in on a secret – that’s me in the picture! I had a wonderful time getting my makeup done by Leonie, the National Educator from Austria. She did a beautiful job and I made sure to have my jazz hands going all night long!
- Apply your shade of PurePressed Base Mineral Foundaiton to your face using the Handi Brush. Spritz with your favorite Hydration Spray.
- Apply Canvas Lid Primer to your entire eyelid and up to your brow bone using your ring finger. Pat gently.
- Apply Taupe PurePressed Eye Shadow from the top of your lash line up to just below your brow bone using the Deluxe Shader Brush.
- Apply Shady Lady PurePressed Eye Shadow on the outer 3/4 of your eye lid using the Deluxe Shader Brush.
- Apply Double Espresso PurePressed Eye Shadow in your crease and extend outward and down to create a v shape .
- Highlight your brow bone with Champagne PurePressed Eye Shadow.
- Line your eyes using the Basic Black Eye Pencil.
- Smudge Double Espresso PurePressed Eye Shadow over your liner.
- Apply faux lashes if desired.
- Apply PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner followed by Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara in Black Ice.
- Fill in your brows with the Basic Brown Eye Pencil.
- Apply Sunbeam Quad Bronzer to your forehead, apples of your cheeks and cheek bones using the Dome Brush.
- Highlight the top of your cheek bones using the In Touch Highlighter, blend with your ring finger.
- Apply a large beauty mark to the top of your left cheek bone about 1.5 inches from your hair line using the Black/Brown Eye Pencil.
- Line your lips with the Crimson Lip Pencil. Apply Margi PureMoist Lipstick and Crabapple PureGloss Lip Gloss.
- Finish your look with a short black wig or tie your hair back and add a hat.
- Sticking with the theme of music, these two looks were especially fun and they were created by National Educators from Canada, Ruben and the US, Randal.First, how to achieve the Lady Gaga look:
- Start by applying Glow Time BB Cream in BB1 thickly to your entire face, including brows and eyelids, using the Foundation Brush.
- Squeeze a little Aqua Silk Eye Gloss onto a palette and apply using a Foundation Brush to your entire eyelids and up onto and over your brows. Let dry.
- Using a moist Chisel Shader brush, apply Blue Hour PurePressed Eye Shadow just below your bottom lash line on the outside of where your pupil lines up and curve around the apple of your cheek ending about 1″ from the corners of your lips. The line should be fairly thicker at the top and thin out toward the bottom. Repeat on both sides of your face.
- Using the Aquamarine Mystikol, apply two lines from the outer corner of both your eyes down your face curving slightly over your cheek bones. These lines should also be fairly thicker toward the top and thinner on the bottom.
- Line your top and bottom lash line and bottom water line using the Basic Black Eye Pencil.
- Using Artist Palette II* apply the yellow color in an arch above the left side of your top lip from the cupids bow to the outer corner and fill in. Then draw a star that that connects to this arch and extends up onto the apple of your cheek (see photo above). *The Artist Palette II is now discontinued, however many makeup artists and locations may still have this kit available.
- Apply Passion Lip Fixation to your lips and let dry completely.
- Finish by applying BB1 Glow Time BB Cream over the right side of your top and bottom lip.
- Tie hair back with a dark bandanna or head band.
For Madonna’s Material Girl look, follow these steps:- Start by applying your shade of Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder using the Powder Brush, spritz with Hydration Spray.
- Apply Canvas Lid Primer from the top of your lash line up to your brow bone.
- Apply White Eye Shadow on your entire eyelid using the Deluxe Shader Brush.
- Apply Red Carpet Eye Shadow using the Eye Shader Brush from the center of your eyelid up and outward diagonally to just below your eyebrow. Fill in the entire outer part of your eyelid using Red Carpet.
- Line your top and bottom lash line completely using the Dark Topaz Mystikol.
- Fill in your brows using the Taupe Eye Pencil.
- Apply PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner followed by Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara in Black Ice.
- Apply Barley Rose PurePressed Blush to the apples of your cheeks using the Dome Brush.
- Apply a beauty mark above the right side of your lip using the Black/Brown Eye Pencil.
- Line and fill in your lips with the Rose Lip Pencil.
- Apply Rose PureMoist Lipstick followed by Cosmo PureGloss Lip Gloss.
- Tie your hair back and pin up using hair pins to create this fun look. Add gloves and jewelery.
